The word "Anarchy" comes from the ancient Greek ἀναρχία, anarchia, from ἀν an, "not, without" +ἀρχός arkhos, "ruler", meaning "absence of a leader", "without rulers").
It means without rulers, not without rules.
One thing comes to mind there. A popular phrase in today's society is "Do you". Anarchy is just that, govern yourself. Freedom from influence of a higher power, be it the President, Senators kings and queens, God, Budda, Lucifer, or whatever you may believe in. It's the removal of that. To me, it gives me the ability to think for myself. It also removes the excuse of anything I may do in my life that could harm me. I am responsible for my own actions at that point and I have zero excuses.
On a larger scale, murder and rape. I can understand why laws are implemented to avoid these things, and in an Anarchist society, these things would still be illegal, because Anarchists have rules to. You should be charged and held responsible for murdering someone. It's as simple at that, it's fucked up and you're fucked up for doing it. There are other cases which could be accepted, self defense murder from someone invading your home and attempting to kill you, and you just happen to come out on top, why should you be charged for that? The fact that sometimes people are charged and sentenced for a clear cut case of self defense means to me that things are corrupt and need to be removed. Let's throw a curve-ball in there. A person is raping another person, somehow in the chaos the raped manages to get a knife in the rapist and the rapist is now dead. Should the raped party be charged with murder in any sense? OR if the raped doesn't tell anyone that they were raped, and they murder the rapist after the effect, should they be charged then? I don't think so. After the emotional trauma, they should be able to receive help, in secrecy, for free. Not sapped for every dime for all these treatments they wouldn't have had to get in the first place if the first party wasn't doing something so ludicrously FUCKED UP in the first place.
Why should I have to abide by things I don't agree with? I'm not you, you're not me, we're different. We speak differently, think differently, believe differently, and act differently. Something as small as loitering, or jaywalking, comes to mind. Who fucking cares if I cross the street somewhere other than a sidewalk? If I get hit by a car, I'm at fault. I didn't maximize my safety and now I'm damaged because of a vehicle and it's 100% my fault. I could have just walked to a crosswalk then crossed safely at the signal. If a police officer decides to be a dick and fine me for crossing the street, that's a bit absurd.
We're the people, we have a voice, we attempt to use it, and in most governments we go on ignored. We're supposed to vote on the subjects and as the people we're supposed to have the right to change it. Why is gay marraige still on the fence? The voice of gay rights is louder and louder every single year, and yet it's still struggling to be able to get married. This is ridiculous to me, and I would like to do something about it, but we can't while we have these continuously more extreme parties in government. Pretty soon we'll be voting Facist vs Socialist instead of Republican vs Democrat. Remove them, they don't have the rights to tell us who we should be.
The media is also inspiration for why I believe this way. Be skinny, drink this, buy that, everyone will like you if you have this 'gotta have' product, dress this way. Who the fuck are you to tell me who I need to be? You're not me. Go on your own way, and I'll go mine. I'm perfectly happy knowing that you're different than me. I may not agree with some of your thoughts, but that's just it. I don't have to. Do you. Be you. Be proud of you. And I'm gonna do me. Regardless of what you think. You don't have to like me. That's the beauty of it.
In conclusion. Anarchy to me is the freedom to speak my mind, do what I please, as long as I'm willing to accept the fate of my actions, think for myself without some other force telling me I 'should' be this way.

ALSO: Keep in mind, being an Anarchist is illegal in the United States. So before you decide to fly your black flag for whatever reason, keep in mind, they won't even let you THINK like that.
