BAM! Nothing Happens When You Die

The afterlife has been one of the things that keeps people in fear. Once you hit a certain age, or an event happens, you realized and begin to acknowledge your mortality. I've been wondering what happens to a degree, if you're religious, you're told what happens to you when you die. There's Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, reincarnation, Valhalla, Hades, Mount Olympus, rebirth. To me? None of these sound bad. Some sound worse than others, specifically this imagery of "hell", but even that has it's positive notes.

If you're a good Christian (wo)man, you'll go to Heaven when you die, and you'll live among God and the angels. Well, that sounds nice, sound peaceful, and at the same time, a little boring. Not my first choice, but if that's what happens, it happens. If you're not so good, you go to hell and you're supposed to be tortured for all eternity. That place has got to be warm at least, and I don't think that happens, because Lucifer needs to train and amass an army...Why would he torture the already limited populous going there? Seems illogical. So Hell is, in my understanding, a lovely warm place where you train for a great war until it happens...Also doesn't sound horrible given that if you're there you don't have that much of a choice. I don't know the stipulations for getting to Purgatory, but the general consensus is it's so-so. Speaks for itself to me.

The Buddhists pretty much just give you the idea of reincarnation, which is the most scientifically proven thing with the whole dispersion and reattachment of the atoms pretty much saying "YO! REBORN!" So that's all lovely. Seems logical.

I'm not sure what the romans/greeks thought, with the Mount Olympus thing, but I think it'd be fuckin' sweet to hang out with the Gods like Ares and Zeus and shit. Think about it, you die and all of a sudden you're hanging out with SUPERHEROES? How sweet would that be? Maybe Kratos is real and the game designers had an inside tip.

My personal favorite and complete hope to the afterlife is that if you die, you join the God-men in Valhalla. Drinking, fighting, bro-ing out with the best companions you could ask for. What's not to like about that? To top it all off, a beautiful Valkyrie takes you away to Valhalla. You then fight on a battlefield with no allegiances, die in battle again, and essentially respawn back in the great mead hall with the same people that killed you, only to drink and enjoy the day as if nothing had happened and to do it again. It's the ultimate Appreciate the Little Things and it's fantastic sounding.

There are so many possibilities of what happens when you die that you shouldn't even stress it. Focus on making yourself immortal in this life. Create good things NOW, that way there's no question as to what happens when you die, only that you'll never be forgotten. Immortalize yourself. That way what happens when you die never stops.

Nobody Likes That 'Boom Boom Jungle Music'

I would normally say that the musical influence on the youth is relatively none if it weren't for the fact that the average intelligence seems to be sloping downward at an incredible rate.

Music is entertainment, therapy, and influence on me in the fact that I actually listen to notoriously bad music. Unfortunately, beyond the surface of most musics direct lyrics the deeper meaning is a major metaphor for certain things. An example would be Tech N9ne's "Keep on Keepin' on". A poor example, because it's so obvious, but the lyrics are mainly callin' out haters and doggin' on anyone that hates on Tech. When in reality he shows that regardless of what you think, he's going to keep on doing what he does because it's good for him and he enjoys what he's doing.

With the youth today, I believe it's causing more and more violence, with the incredibly aggressive lyrics in metal, rock, hip hop, and rap. On the other side of the spectrum with pop, country, and dance music out there encouraging sex all over the place. This isn't good because the youth today is already thinking they're mature enough to pop out children of their own. If you don't have the mindset to understand that listening to this music and running it down to a literal meaning, it could be the death of you or your lifestyle, how can you intend on raising children of your own to understand not to take it seriously. It's meant for entertainment and a way for the artist to ventilate their internal conflicts and feelings. With the way America is running on is downward sliding intelligence, we're in for a crazy time if music stays the way it's going.

I'm not for music censoring AT ALL, keep that in mind, I don't think there is anything wrong with music at all. I think we need to teach our children that it's not literally what the artists meant in their songs. The youth itself is an easily molded thing, and with the bad influence currently in music. We can fix that ourselves. That way it won't be an issue. Stop over-hyping sex and violence to the youth with music itself will be no problems.
